QUICK HEALTH TIPS: Depression. 0

Depression is one of the most common medical problems in the United States.  It affects more than 20% of Americans aged eighteen and older (one in five adults) every year.  It is twice more common in women than in men.   Depression is a total body sickness, one that  affects the nervous system, thoughts, moods and behavior.  It affects the way you eat and sleep, the way you feel about yourself, and the way you react to and think about the people and things around you.  Symptoms can last for weeks, months, or years.  There are many types of depression, with variations in the number of symptoms, their severity, and persistence.

Arthritis is the inflammation of one or more joints.  It is most often accompanied by pain and stiffness, especially in the morning or after exercise, as well as swelling, deformity and/or a diminished range of motion.  Spurs or bone growths may develop in the affected joints, increasing pain and decreasing mobility.

Although the term ARTHRITIS literally means “joint inflammation”, arthritis actually refers to a group of more than a hundred rheumatic conditions and diseases that can cause pain, stiffness, and swelling of the joints.

QUICK HEALTH TIPS: Constipation

QUICK HEALTH TIPS: Constipation 0

Constipation is very common, but fortunately, easily remedied by changing certain habits.  Ironically, one of the biggest obstacles is that you may not even realize you ARE constipated!

Conventional medicine defines constipation as having less than two or three bowel movements weekly, when in reality it should be at least one daily, and preferably two or three!  If you have less than one daily, you need to correct the problem…and fast!

Regularity is vital for health because without it, toxins accumulate and are recycled in the bloodstream.  Constipation can also raise the risk of developing hemorrhoids or fecal impaction in which the solid waste material must be manually removed.  Fortunately, constipation is usually temporary and relatively easy to resolve.

BLADDER INFECTION

Many conditions affecting the kidneys, bladder, or urethra are described as urinary tract infections, or UTIs, and most UTIs are concentrated in the bladder and urethra.

Keep the genital and anal areas clean and dry.  Women should always wipe from front to back after emptying bladder or bowels, should empty the bladder before and after exercise and sexual intercourse, and should wash the vagina after intercourse.
